Plymouth, NC — Plymouth Municipal Airport officials recently
announced the completion of the first phase of a major expansion and
renovation program for the Washington County aviation facility.

East Carolina University has announced it will be engaged in
diverse development activities in Washington County. These range
from formal activities to educational ventures that address the
fundamental needs of the county.

Washington County School System (WCS) is pleased to
announce a partnership with Elizabeth City State University (ECSU)
to establish an Early College Virtual High School (Viking Scholars)
serving students in grades 9-12.

The sale of Washington County Hospital (WCH) to Hospital
Management Consulting LLC (HMC) (Kansas City, MO) for $3.1
million was completed on June 1, 2007.
With the acquisition, WCH now has an opportunity to grow and
expand healthcare within the County.

Washington County, NC — Ground was broken recently for a new luxury retirement community on the historic Albemarle Sound in the Pea Ridge area of Washington County. Waterside at the Point will feature 175 residential homes in a gated, secure, planned community environment.
